Before leaving New York City, he founded an arts nonprofit that organized and operated the first citywide open studios program. During his senior year of university, he founded a promotional products firm that became the first in the US to have an interactive order taking website which won fortune 500 clients from much larger competitors. Jesse holds a B.A. from Bard College at Simon’s Rock, a well renowned American university that admits students before they finish high school.
Teaching English as a foreign language, also known as TEFL or ESL (English as a second language) for the last 9 years, M has helped students secure employment and advance their careers in international corporations such as Microsoft, Oracle, Coke, Hess, Chevron, Yandex, Sberbank and many more. Working closely with her clients, she develops individual programs for each person, often including intensive interview practice, grammar and vocabulary enhancement activities and comprehension improvement. During this time, she also assisted learners in greatly increasing their TOEFL or IELTS scores and getting accepted into the post-graduate program of their choice. M earned her CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) degree from Cambridge University in 2010. Before then, she accumulated a wide variety of writing and editing experience, including creating original copy & editing colleagues’ work for the United States Information Agency (USIA), in Washington D.C. and developing ad copy for a small business servicing corporations such as Walmart, Land O’ Lakes, MCI, and more. We will never share your information.
We have both worked in foreign markets extensively. Our 10 years of experience in the Asian market, and 5 years specifically in the Japanese market, has educated us about the particular challenges facing non-native non-Western MBA applicants. Having learned about Japanese culture, we understand the need to find the perfect balance between presenting you in a way that you are comfortable with and adopting the western approach top MBA programs expect. (M has also been working with Russian clients for the last 5 years.)
How we are different:
Having two us on your team means that you get twice as much experience and assistance. After analyzing and discussing the information you provide to us, we dig deeper, asking you further questions. We don’t just react to your material; we proactively guide and build your optimum MBA persona. Almost everyone overlooks a key part of their story (sometimes because it seems commonplace to them) but we discover this jewel and bring it to the forefront. Often it is very difficult for people to frame their own stories and impressive work can be unintentionally excluded; we guard against this oversight.
All MBA coaches have a checklist of services they offer. However, it’s often the interconnected nature of these distinct activities that goes unleveraged and opportunities are squandered. Each component of the process should be carefully considered and used to your advantage. We truly care and we prove it time and time again with quantifiable results.
Who we are:
We are a happily married couple that met and fell in love at university in 1990, at 15 and 16 years old (we earned admission two years before the standard age). Since then we have often worked together while living around the world. We’ve resided in New York City, Mexico, Thailand, Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Albania, Macedonia, and Russia and have traveled to many other fascinating countries. Due to our adventurous lifestyle, our consultations are via Skype. However, if we happen to be in the same city at the same time, we would be delighted to meet in person.
Jesse began his journey into the world of the MBA application process as a test specialist. As he got to know his students, he discovered that many used different consultants that weren’t communicating with one another. Even after essays and resumes had been reviewed and approved by these professionals, he was disappointed to see key information missing and grammatical errors. He began offering essay and resume consultation and interview practice in order to ensure that the people he worked with have the best possible chance of acceptance. He brought in his wife, M, to add another dimension to test and interview preparation and to specialize in MBA essay consultation and editing.
Working as a team, we consult about each client, even if they are only working with one of us. Jesse has more experience overseeing the entire MBA application process and M has more writing and editing expertise. Both have worked extensively in test and interview preparation and preparing clients for specific professional tasks such as presentations, board of director meetings and negotiations.
